
Farm Rules
In order to maintain safety to all riders and horses, as well as maintain cleanliness throughout the farm, Painted Hilltop Farm has established the following rules:
Return to Riding Lessons - Covid-19 Protocols
If you or anyone in your household have been in contact with someone ill, or are feeling ill yourself. You must cancel your lesson and wait to re-book until you are feeling better. If you are awaiting a Covid 19 test - Do Not Come to your riding lesson.

All visits to the farm must be booked in advance. Absolutely no drop in's.

Only one family member can accompany participants to their lessons. Others will be asked to remain at their vehicles until lessons are finished.

There is no hanging out before or after lessons. Riders must be prompt in their arrival and departure.

As soon as you arrive, you must sanitize your hands.

For colder weather - riding gloves must be washed before each use.

parents of younger riders will be asked to assist with helping your child mount.

Please ensure you have your own riding helmet.

Inclement weather: In the event of high heat, pouring rain, high winds, or thunderstorms. Lessons will be cancelled and made up at a later date.
Regular Farm Rules

No person shall feed treats, or enter any field without permission; unless it is your own horse

No smoking in or around any buildings or riding rings. Designated smoking area is at the road.

No horse is to be left unattended in crossties

Everyone is expected to clean up after themselves. Please sweep and tidy all areas. All tack must be returned to tack room

Lock the tack room/ close barn doors prior to leaving the property. Be sure ALL lights have been turned off

If you use the hose in the barn – it MUST be recoiled and turned off when finished

Children must be under adult supervision at all times

No running or screaming in or around the barn

Lessons must be cancelled at least 2 hours before the scheduled session. Failure to do so will result in a full charge for that lesson

If you, your guest or horse break something on the farm please inform us right away

PROPERLY FITTED AND SECURED RIDING HELMETS AND FOOTWEAR ARE COMPULSORY AT ALL TIMES

The fences on the property are electric. Please make sure you and/or your children do not touch them

All Garbage brought onto the property must find its way to the garbage can

Please, leave your dogs at home. No pets are allowed on the property.
Tacking and Untacking

Beginner to novice riders will have their horses tacked up and in the ring waiting for them. There will be no grooming/tacking up.

Intermediate to experienced riders will be permitted to arrive 15 minutes prior to their lesson time to groom and tack up.

If you have been given permission to tack up please ensure that you grab the following:
Cleaning pale: Which includes saddle soap and conditioner, sponges and rags for bit cleaning and saddle cleaning
As restrictions lighten we will start to resume normal grooming/tacking procedures for all riders as horse care is a huge part of riding.
